How we met:

At a Deakin Uni O Week Party at Level 3 Crown. Steph had just arrived at the party, like legit just stepped off the escalator and some random guy ran up and jumped on her and her friend. He started talking a lot and then his friend sheepishly joined him. His friend didn’t speak, kept looking down, seemed quite shy, and that was Dave. Steph then decided, and even said to him, “I’m going to make you talk” and that was back in March 2016. Now we don’t ever stop talking.

The Proposal:

We had just been to Las Vegas for Mark and Nina’s wedding (Dave’s brother), then Dave, Mark, Nina and a bunch of other wedding guests ran the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas. Half Marathon down the strip (I was walking with Carina, Dave’s sister, drinking out of one of those big necklace drink things). The next day we had a flight to Orlando and when we landed we were diverted to a different terminal as there was a bomb threat at the airport.

This is the second time we’ve experienced a bomb threat on a holiday, first one was Disney Paris 2019. Unbeknownst to me, Dave was trying to organise a photographer for later that night as he had secretly planned a firework dessert package deal for us where he was going to propose. We were in this special VIP area with only a few people near us, he asked a cast member to take a photo, and he proposed! Then we had the rest of our trip at Disney World to enjoy as an engaged couple! We even got some special Disney magic where we got to skip the line on my favourite ride, Big Thunder Mountain!
