Grove Gippsland Wedding Fun

We chose our venue, The Grove Gippsland for our wedding fun.

We had been to a wedding at this venue before, we loved the layout, look and the packages suited us. Grove Gippsland is where the wedding photography took place.

How we met:

Collette – We met when a friend sent me a Snapchat photo of a fire truck at Bunnings. There was a firey in the photo and I thought he was cute and jokingly said, he’s cute, get his number. To which she replied, he said it’s 000. It was Australia Day 2017 and later that day the fire truck was at an Australia Day family event and I approached the truck to put my kids on but didn’t talk to Phil. My friends husband had gotten Phil’s number earlier in the day at Bunnings as he wanted to join the brigade. So while at the Australia Day event, my friend took her husbands phone and text Phil, what do you think of my friend? To which he replied, what friend? I felt embarrassed as I was sure he had smiled at me at one point in the day. Before I knew it, the fire trucks left as they had a call and I thought that was it. A few days later, Phil text my friends husband asking about me. Then the husband starts texting me telling me. I straight away told him get Phil to text me instead. 8 years later, one daughter and a mortgage, here we are.

The Proposal:

It was Christmas morning 2021, Phil had been plotting for a few months. He had a onesie made that said Mummy will you marry daddy? And dressed her in it on Christmas morning. I was stunned and began crying, totally taken by surprise. He opened the ring box and asked me to marry him. He wasn’t on his knee so I said between laughter and tears, shouldn’t you be down on one knee, followed by a yes.

The Grove Gippsland was bursting with life from the very first frame—golden light spilling through olive trees, laughter ringing out across the hills, and every glance between the couple full of pure joy. I bounced between camera and video rig, chasing candid bursts of energy, romantic moments in the dappled shade, and that wild dance floor glow as the sun dipped behind the Bass Hinterland. Every shot had its own spark, and by the end of the night, it felt less like work and more like being part of one unforgettable celebration.

I cannot rate Andrew from Passion8 Photography high enough. He had high energy and a great character that allows for amazing photos. His jokes and smile had both my husband and I in stitches for a lot of our wedding day. Aside from the banter, he was very professional, taking the time to get to know our family members and friends. We had a request for a photo opportunity off site and Andrew was kind enough to take us in his own car and delivered some outstanding scenery photos!
