How we met:

Sherene was on her family trip with her mum, her sister and my sister’s husband, YD in Japan on April 2016. YD invited Peter to join the trip as he didn’t want to be the only male in the trip. Hence, that’s how Peter and Sherene met each other. Sherene’s first thought of Peter wasn’t good as he was late during the first dinner. First impression wasn’t good. Peter’s first thought of Sherene is she was quite mean as she was annoyed Peter arrived at their meeting late due to train issues. However after getting to know her he found she was a very independent woman who has a great sense of responsibility.

The Proposal:

On 17th March 2019, Peter proposed to Sherene in Kyoto, Japan where that’s the city where they first met in 2016. He first wanted to find a specific ice cream store and put the ring on the cone but that was closed. Then he wanted to propose at the bamboo forest but unknown to him there was also a bamboo museum and google directed him there instead where there was a couple taking wedding photo shoots He then organised a “private onsen” (hot spring) with private dinner but turns out it was private to each gender so we were separated and the dinner was in a relatively public setting. He ended up proposing as we returned to our accommodation and knelt down as he put the grocery bags down.
